Russell T. "Hootenheimer" Nelson, Mark's brother, often walked here, a few blocks down the hill, to socialize with friends and play songs on the juke box. Russ, or "Hoot" as we fondly called him, loved music, especially The 70's. He could rattle off the titles of almost every song played, the name of the band, band members, year the album came out, and more!
A few years ago, an ash tree on the property fell down and died. In true Hoot fashion, Russ simply made a phone call and ordered a replacement ash tree to be delivered and replanted out back. He was a selfless giver and was loved by all who knew him and met him.
Sadly, in November 2011, Russ passed away, at home, family at his side, music playing non-stop. This cache is placed in honor and memory of Russ Nelson. We love and miss you, Hoot.
