Geocache Description:

Hidden in Berhow Park in Huxley - this park needed a cache. The tree board has done a great job here : ) Parking lot is available on south side of park, access from 5th street. BYOP

This is our next in Pokemon series - those familiar (ask your kids) likely don't need the hint to have an idea where this one would be. Original contents are log, ISU ball marker and a token for a treat. BYOP

Berhow Park is located on the East side of Huxley. It is a municipal park of 6.565 acres of land with natural landscapes, flowers and trees with walking paths and shelter.

The following is a short history of its origin. This information has been taken from resolution No 83-84. It is located at the Story Co. recorders office in book 209 on Page 6.

In the 1970’s Robert Larson, who owned Larson Lumber & Grain Co., conveyed 6.565 acres of land to the City of Huxley. The land in the general area is known as Parkridge Subdivision and the park land was given in accordance with the Municipal Code of Huxley Section 30.502 that stated a percentage of development land be allocated as park area. Sophes Berhow had previously owned the land, so when the park was plotted Mr. Larson asked that it be named in the Berhow families honor.
