The RMS Titanic, the largest ship the world had ever known, sailed from Southhampton, England, on her maiden voyage to New York City on Wednesday, April 10th, 1912. She was built with double bottoms, and her hull was divided into 16 watertight compartments. She was thought to be unsinkable.
The liner carried more than 2,200. Occupying the first-class suites were many well-known men and women. In the crowded cabins of steerage were more than 700 immigrants heading to the land of promise.
This is an Event to remember the passengers and crew of the RMS Titanic that sank 100 years ago tonight.
Place: Naut's Landing, Menasha
Date: April 14, 2012
Time 12:30-2:30 PM
Upon signing the ship's log, you will be given a passenger name tag. At the appointed time, we will muster the attendees to see who survived, and who sank with the Titanic. Prizes will be awarded to those that survive.
Men, women, and children lost their lives, so all ages are invited to attend this 2 hour Event.
If you are participating in the Adopt-A-Highway clean up east of Appleton, you should have enough time to head west and join the fun. Nauts Landing is a bar/grill with a nautical theme.
