Geocache Description:

Ammo box located at the Ice Age Trail Alliance headquarters that contains info about the Ice Age Trail and the ColdCache program. Please take information about the trail or ColdCaches or a trinket for the kids, but no need to leave anything.

Locate this cache and learn more about the ColdCache program promoted by the Ice Age Trail Alliance.  All official ColdCache sites are also EarthCache sites.  They just happen to be along the Ice Age Trail.
IATCC is the cache designation to highlight a series of EarthCaches along the Ice Age National Scenic Trail grouped into a special category called "ColdCache."
The Ice Age Trail is one of eleven National Scenic Trails designated by the National Park Service.  This unique trail is entirely within the state of Wisconsin and follows along the terminal moraine of the most recent glacier which retreated about 10,000 years ago.
This project is supported by the Ice Age Trail Alliance (IATA).  The goal is to bring more visitors to the trail and promote public awareness, appreciation, and understanding of Wisconsin’s glacial landscape.  The IATA has created an awards program to encourage visits to the trail and ColdCache sites.  This awards program is separate from, and in addition to, any other Geo- or EarthCache awards program.
More information on the Ice Age Trail Atlas, the Companion Guide, the ColdCache Project and Awards Program can be found at:
If you happen to find this cache during normal office hours (8 am to 5 pm; Monday – Friday), feel free to stop in the Ice Age Trail Alliance office to pick up additional information about the Ice Age Trail and programs supported by the Alliance. Also, check out the landscaping of the grounds.  You’ll notice the many boulders donated by member chapters of the IATA – you’re sure to see some similar boulders as you wander the many miles of the Ice Age Trail.
While there is limited street parking, there is a small parking lot behind the IATA office.
