archy_cache: I'm archiving the Dr. Who series. This series was meant to be fun, but has been nothing but a hassle. I'm tired of people complaining about the cache being missing when it was in fact there or claiming to find a cache that was in fact missing. I'm tired of cache hiding spots being cut down or destroyed. And don't get me started about people leaving candy in the cache containers. Seriously?! DO NOT LEAVE FOOD IN THE CACHES PEOPLE!

Those who were observant may have noticed that there was no cache for the 3rd Doctor. He might make a brief appearance this summer...

Geocache Description:

This cache is one in a series of caches that commemorate the 50th anniversary of the longest running TV science fiction show, Dr. Who. Each of the caches is placed in a location referencing a place, person, episode, or event from Dr. Who. There is one cache for each of the eleven Doctors, each cache container may be different or hidden in a manner unique from the others. See if you can keep up with the Doctor on his adventures across time and space.

This cache is named for the episode "Silence in the Library", episode 8 in Series 4. In this episode, the 10th Doctor (played by David Tennant) and Donna Nobel (Catherine Tate) land in the 51st century to visit the greatest library in the universe, encompassing an entire planet, but are baffled when they find it deserted. To the best he can determine, the library has been closed for 100 years so the arrival of a team of archaeologists led by River Song (Alex Kingston), comes as something of a surprise. They discover the Vashta Nerada, carnivorous creatures living in the shadows, are responsible. All they have is one warning: count the shadows. This episode is one of my favorite from the new series - perhaps it's because River Song is an archaeologist. ;)

The cache is located near the Foster Library. This cache is placed in a high-traffic area, so please be mindful of muggles. Do NOT get the cache if people are around and be sure to replace the cache with care. The container you are seeking is a small, round, camoed lock n'lock that likes to hide in the shaddows. As always, please share the cache condition so that I can keep it well maintained.
