Au cours des siècle précédant l'urbanisation du bord de mer, la plage des Lecques était beaucoup plus étirée vers l'intérieur. Le Mistral soulevait du sable de la plage, et le déposait sur le versant nord de la colline, créant ainsi une dune éolienne plaquée de 220m de hauteur. Toujours transporté par le le vent, ce sable se déversait ensuite sur le versant sud de la colline, formant la coulée encore visible aujourd'hui. Le sable était retenu sur la pente par une végétation adaptée à la fois au sable et aux embruns.
Depuis l'urbanisation du bord de mer, la colline de sable n'est plus alimentée par la plage. Sa fréquentation importante par les promeneurs, les cyclistes tout terrain et les enfants jouant au „toboggan“ entraînait une érosion rapide de la coulée de sable: elle risquait donc de disparaître.
Alors soyez très prudent quand vous montez sur la colline.
Pour valider votre découverte:
1. Sur le tableau il y a deux plantes qui sont mentoinnées. Lesquelles?
2. La dune pousse plus loin. S'il vous plaît expliquer pourquoi.
3. Analysez et comparez le sable de la dune et la sable à côte de la dune. Quelles differences est-ce-qu'il y a? Expliquez court les differences.
4. Volontaire: Faites une photo de la colline et donnez-le au Log. (Mais pour sauver la colline s'il vous plaît sans vous!!!)
Während der Urbanisierung des Ufers im vorhergehenden Jahrhundert, war der Strand von Lecques viel mehr nach innen ausgedehnt. Der Mistral hob den Sand vom Strand auf, und trug ihn auf den nördlichen Abhang des Hügels, wodurch eine 220 m hohe Winddüne entstand. Immer weiter vom Wind transportiert, lagerte sich der Sand nun am Südhang des Hügels ab und bildete den heute noch sichtbaren Sandabhang. Der Sand wurde am Hang durch eine an die Art des Sandes und des Sprühwassers angepasste Vegetation zurückgehalten.
Seit der Urbanisierung des Ufers, wird der Sandhügel nicht mehr durch weiteren Sand vom Strand versorgt. Der Besuch von Wanderern, Mountainbikern und spielenden Kindern auf der „Rutschbahn“ führte zu einer raschen Erosion des Sandhügels: Sie riskieren dadurch sein Verschwinden. Seid also bitte rücksichtsvoll, wenn Ihr die Düne besteigen wollt.
Logbedingungen:
1. Auf der Tafel sind zwei Pflanzen exemplarisch genannt. Welche?
2. Die Düne wächst nicht weiter. Erkläre bitte warum.
3. Untersuche und vergleiche den Sand der Düne und den Sand neben der Düne. Welche Unterschiede sind festzustellen? Bitte erkläre kurz die Unterschiede.
4. Freiwillig: Postet bitte nach der Logfreigabe auch ein Bild des Sandhügels. (Zum Schutz des Hügels ohne Euch!)
Before the urbanisation of the coast, the beach of Les Lecques was much more extended to the inner part. The Mistral lifted the sand from the beach and transported it to the north slope of the hill, which resulted in a dune of about 220 m height. From there the sand was further transported and dropped on the south slope of the hill to built the dune, which can still be visited today. Special vegetation, which is adapted to the spray water and they type of sand, keeps it in its place.
Since the urbanisation of the coast, no additional sand is lifted and dropped on the sand slope. The visit of hikers, mountainbikers and kids, who use this natural „slide“ led to a fast erosion of the sandhill. By this behaviour, they risk its disappearance! Therefore, please be careful when visiting the site and respect its uniqueness.
Conditions for logging:
1. on the marker two of the adapted plants are mentioned. Which?
2. The dune does not grow anymore. Please explain why.
3. Please investigate and compare the sand of the dune and the sand next to the dune. Which differences do you see? Please explain the reason for differences briefly.
4. Voluntary: Please post a picture of the hill with your log. (Without you to protect the hill!)
