WILSON ISLAND STATE RECREATION AREA
(544 acres)
Seclusion is one of the area’s greatest assets and spacious shady campsites, hiking trails and picnic spots provide a welcome retreat. On your way to Wilson Island, relax and take in the beauty of the wave-like Loess Hills overlooking the Missouri River flood plain.
Step quietly and you may see deer grazing in the park’s fields, bald eagles surveying the land from their perch in tall cottonwoods. In the spring, hunt for mushrooms; in the fall, hunt game.
