Geocache Description:

"Never trust a Prankster." - Ken Kesey

Portland has a long history of being a central point for unique and unusual types of social events, activities, and entertainment. Where else can you have milk carton boat races, get a maple bar doughnut with bacon on it, and dress up in costume for a Saturday night movie (EVERY Saturday night, by the way). It's all a part of what makes Portland Portland.

But not all of our fair city is that out of touch with the mainstream. We have excellent theaters, museums, and parks that rival any other city in the country. The Oregon Historical Society houses our history, the Schnitzer brings in some of the best entertainment in the world, and the Portland Art Museum has a collection of some of the finest work anywhere, featuring both local and global artists.

Once a year, there is an opportunity to explore that creativity, for one night, in all it's glory. When you arrive at GZ, you will see what it is all about, a chance to experience, a chance to to reconsider what is possible in a museum. You will be able to engage in unexpected ways and celebrate socially engaged works of art. A mix of artist-driven installations, performances, and interventions will take place throughout the campus offering an exciting opportunity to rethink your relationship to various form of art. There will even be an opportunity to experience a unique type of geocaching-type of scavenger hunt, one that does not require a GPSr.

Date: May 17th, 2013

Time: 6:15PM to 6:45PM

Meet at the posted coordinates at the times listed. No sign in necessary (you may not be able to trust a prankster, but you can always trust a geocacher!!!). Furthur instructions will be given at that time to facilitate what happens next. It won't be a long strange trip, but it will be a unique Portland experience. Parking will be available, but it's downtown so consider using the mass transit system, or biking down.

Please log a "will attend" by Friday 5/17 3:00pm, if you are planning on coming. It is important that we get as accurate a head count before the event as possible...
