Now the home to two television stations, the building began as the home of famed hanging judge Judge Isaac Parker. As memorialized on the cornerstone, the building became the Fort Smith Carnegie library, founded Oct. 10th 1891 by the Fortnightly Club. In 1902, even before receiving a Carnegie grant, the city of Fort Smith had the largest public library collection in the state of Arkansas.
