Join us for a little Halloween costume contest on Sunday, October 27th. Bring your costume & lots of TBs. Last year everyone came dressed up, & we had a good time! There is even more time to plan your costumes this year, & the prizes will be HyVee gift cards.
Come to the HyVee Food Court at 840 E 23rd St in Fremont from 3-5 pm to eat some food, share stories & TBs, & hopefully, have a little fun. This year we'll be listening to your creepiest (true) caching stories & voting for our fave one.
There is only one tiny, little rule - you must wear a costume to compete in the actual costume contest! Sure, you can still come to this event without, but we will tease you, smear you with fish guts, then feed you to our werecats. So, for your own safety we would definitely prefer if everyone plays along. NO, dressing as a geocacher does NOT count! Be creative. We're certain you can come up with something great. Last year we had some very creative & cool get-ups. FTF honors will go to the best costume!!!
Hy-Vee has cordially invited us to use their facility. They serve Italian (including pizza), Chinese, deli sandwiches, hot-n-cold salad bar, & American entrees/sides, OR you can go buy something else you like (it is a grocery store, after all). Get whatever you want, but it's on your own (sorry, we're not that rich). No purchase is required to attend. It's a haunted happening you don't want to miss!
**Votes were tallied & the Cookie Kids won the costume contest & FTF honor by wearing a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, Wolverine from X-men & a cute little strawberry. Mom, dressed as Janis Joplin, got to wear the best costume sash & received a $5 HyVee gift card. LadybugLisa was runner up dressed appropriately as a lady bug. That was our fave too. Best true creepy story was "tripping in the mud over a dog" by CoccoBears because it was so funny & a bit freaky; chose a waterproof cache container as her prize. Runner up was the night cache story by 8601delphinium...the 2 reflectors turned into a deer & ran. LA would've had a heart attack! Thanks for coming, everyone.**
