Geocache Description:

I CITO ... Do You?

Sunday, November 10th, 1:00 - 4:00 pm

I CITO ... Do You?

Well it is that time again, time to pick up the trash along one of the sections of highway that has been adopted by Iowa Geocachers Organization.

Currently, this is one of four sections of Iowa's roadways that the IGO Board of Directors has approved to adopted. As you travel along US HWY 30 [between CR-V66 (to the East) and 16th Avenue (to the West)], you will see the signs that indicate that the "Iowa Geocachers Organization" have adopted this section of roadway. At least twice a year there will be a CITO here, giving geocachers an opportunity to work together to help clean up our state.

The CITO event is scheduled to start at 1:00 pm, near the Calvary Catholic Cemetery on the North side of the road. After some brief instructions, we will be splitting up in to smaller groups to start picking up the trash. I am estimating that we can have this section cleaned in about three hours. The more people that come out & help out, the faster it will go for all. Please bring gloves and any special tools you may have for picking up trash.

Since the Iowa DOT requires that all participants wear a safety vests (which they will be providing), in your "Will Attend" please provide me with a number in your group.

As a way to help encourage people to attend this CITO event, there will be a special pathtag given out to those cachers that come out & help (while supplies last).
