Teatr Victoria w Gliwicach, przemianowany później na Teatr Miejski, powstał w roku 1899. Na starych fotografiach widać, jak piękny był to budynek. Niestety, w roku 1945, po zajęciu Gliwic przez Sowietów, został spalony przez żołnierzy Armii Czerwonej. Po wojnie, przez pół wieku, ruiny teatru stały w samym centrum miasta, niezabezpieczone w żaden sposób. Dopiero w latach 90-tych przeprowadzono prace niezbędne do zabezpieczenia budynku przed dalszym zniszczeniem i oddano do użytku. Wnętrze ma niezwykły klimat, zupełnie inny od tego, jaki znamy z pozostałych teatrów. Można podziwiać je tutaj:

Victoria Theater in Gliwice, later renamed to City Theater, was built in 1899. Old photos show, how beautiful the building was. Sadly, in 1945, when Soviet forces took control over Gliwice, the theater was damaged in a fire, caused by Red Army Troops. After the war, its ruins stood in the middle of the city for 50 years, unprotected in any way. It wasn’t until 1990’s, when construction works were done to protect the building from further damage and the theater was reopened. It has a unique atmosphere, much different from the other theaters.
