South of the cache location across Highway 54, County Road U provides a twelve-mile border between Wood and Portage Counties, coming to an end at the Adams County line on Highway 73. North of the cache location, County U is still the county line until it makes a sharp left on to North Biron Drive, where it follows the Biron Flowage until the road turns south by the New Page plant on Eagle Road, and then ends at Highway 54.
In the not-too-distant future, however, this highway will undergo some major changes to allow for a new business park to the immediate west and north, and for the recreational development of the natural waterfront between the county line and Huffman Road. It will be interesting to watch these changes and see how things are by U in the future.
