Geocache Description:

So you're good at finding clever geocaches. How about at making and hiding them?  Well with great power comes great responsibility!

Groundspeak is spotlighting the creative caches we love (and sometimes hate) to pursue and more importantly the hard working cache owners behind them.  Do you ever stop and marvel at a great container or mind blowing spot it was placed at then wonder how they make it happen?  Well this will be your opportunity to pick the brains of fellow cache owners and maybe even provide some tips and tricks you’ve learned yourself.  All levels of cachers are welcome from brand new to rockstars.

After a few presentations we will do a short make and take session.  Think of it as craft time from when you were kid.  Obviously no power drills, spray cans, etc. will work for this environment but if you have an idea for a creative container and you’re not sure how to begin bring it and we will try to get you started in the right direction.  The Traveling Armadillo and OrigamiFolder clans will provide some basic items like vials, preforms, magnets, tape, glue, etc. but remember the truly great caches go beyond that.

Come and learn, make a cache if you like and perhaps even make your first placement afterwards.

Everyone attending this event will receive a special "Maker Madness" souvenir!!

I am proud to announce that we have an all-star lineup of creative cache owners slated to join us at this event.

Come see one of the new works from the most favorited CO in the Kansas City area slated to be part of an upcoming series you won’t want to miss. You know him, you love him and you know you want more of his caches… its kvenator!

In addition the metal smith extraordinaire OzzOzz will be on hand to talk shop and hopefully share a couple of his creative caches works of art. If you’ve cached in the northland you know when you’ve found one of his caches, the detail and beautiful presentation never ceases to impress!

Finally the mad scientist himself, jjbarretts2, will be there to show us how to make the bucket stump cache. If you attended the picnic last year you got to see this cache up close and personal. Lots of people expressed an interest in how to make their own. Well here is your chance!
