Geocache Description:

This cache is hidden on the top of Mt. Hope, which is in a Jones County park located about a mile southwest of Stone City, Iowa. It's elevation is about 960ft. It's not Mt. Everest, but what did you expect, this is Iowa. Actually it's an old limestone quarry that has primitive picnic and camping sites. The view is pretty good as long as the leaves are not full. The trail drop offs are very high so you might not want to take really small children on this one. The entrance to the park is not very well marked, but you can park at the bottom of the quarry once you get inside. The gate at the entrance does get locked during the winter months, so you'll have to hike a little farther if you decide to search for it then. Enjoy the view.
