Geocache Description:

Small swag trades, geocoins, and travel bugs can be accomodated. Pencil is provided. Location limits muggle interference but stealth is recommended. Tool to assist with retrieval is available nearby.

Peony (PO Knee) Park.  The park name refers to the former name of the location (Peony Farm) that was owned by political cartoonist and conservationist J.N. "D’ing" Darling. Several peony plants have been re-introduced on the site to provide a wonderful spring show each year.

Jay Norwood Darling (Oct 1876 - Feb 1962) was a renowned American cartoonist who won the Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning during his career.  His cartoons were published in the New York Herald Tribune from 1917 to 1949.

In 1900, Ding became a reporter for the Sioux City (Iowa) Journal. Following his marriage to Genevieve Pendleton in 1906, he began work with the Des Moines Register and Leader. The Jay Norwood and Genevieve Pendleton Darling House is an historic residence located on Terrace Road in Des Moines.
