Geocache Description:

[ENG] When it's wet outside basement is flooded and you will need rubber boots. Cache is small lock-lock type box containing logbook, stuff for exchange and a pencil.

Pils pirmo reizi cieta 1905. gadā, kad to nodedzināja. Līdz Pirmajam pasaules karam pili atjaunoja pēc Vilhelma Romāna Restlera (Roessler, 1878–1949) projekta. Rembates pils gāja bojā Pirmā pasaules kara laikā, līdz mūsdienām ir sagalabājies vien Rembates parks, kas ir Valsts nozīmes aizsargājams dabas objekts. Parks 13 h platībā stiepjas no dzelzceļa stacijas Lielvārde pāri Rīgas - Daugavpils šosejai līdz Daugavas krastam. Parku sāka veidot ap 1858. gadu kā ainavu parku pie Rembates muižas.

[ENG]   An old legend tells that GrandMeistars Zumbaskik carved a tunnel with bare teeth under the River of Daugava to go to his beloved Rich214 because he could not carve a bridge with bare teeth. Also story tells that the tunnel was used by Lāčplēsis after a fight with the black knight to come out of the Daugava alive and intact. This fact, of course, was disguised pretext that this hidden tunnel is only preserved part of the Rembates lost castle cellars.

Rembates castle itself was late classicism building with an impressive portico, but the building was seen borrowings from neo-Renaissance (polygonal tower volume), as well as antique villa architecture. The castle first suffered in 1905, when it burned down. Until the First World War the castle was restored by Wilhelm Roman Restlera (Roessler, 1878 to 1949) of the project. Rembates castle died in the First World War to the present day remains Rembates park, which is a national protected natural object. Park 13 h in the area stretching from the railway station Lielvārde across Riga - Daugavpils highway to the coast of the Daugava. The park began to form around 1858 years as a landscape park at Rembates Manor.
