Geocache Description:

Geocaching International Film Festival Event 2015 (Newtownards, Co. Down)

This event is being held to showcase the exploits of this years 16 finalists of the Geocaching International Film Festival.

Come along and be amongst the first geocachers in Ireland to see the 16 finalist films from the 2015 Geocaching International Film Festival. In the past you could only see these films if you went to the event held every year in Seattle at the Block Party. This year, the Film Festival was rained out. So, on the weekend of 5-8 November only, geocachers all over the world will host geocaching events at which the films from the 2015 Geocaching International Film Festival will be shown publicly for the first time.  The film runs for approximately 60 minutes and IS suitable for children.

While you're here, you can also meet new friends and catch up with old ones, discover and exchange travelbugs and pick up a hint or two you need to turn that DNF into a smiley.

When: Friday 6th November 2015

Where: Function Room 1, Londonderry Park Sports Pavilion, Portaferry Road, NEWTOWNARDS BT23 8NN

Parking: There is ample free parking available on site

Groundspeak Souvenir: This event has been registered with Groundspeak as an official GIFF Weekend 2015 event. All attendees will receive a souvenir on their Geocaching profile once they submit their 'Attended' log.

Doors Open: 19:15hrs (someone will be available at reception from 19:15hrs > 19:45hrs to guide you to Function Room 1). If you arrive after 19:45hrs, walk past reception and turn left and walk to the end of the corridor where you will find Function Room 1.

Show Starts: 19:45hrs sharp (60 minutes long).

You are welcome to bring your own popcorn / snacks / drinks to consume while watching the film.

From 20:45 - 21:30hrs, Complimentary Tea / Coffee / Soft Drinks & Biscuits will be served while we chat about the geocaching exploits we've just watched and the FTF draw will take place with the prize being an unregistered High Seas Adventure Geocoin.

FTF Prize

The venue will be set up to facilitate seating for 60 'geocaching cinema goers' so please be certain to state in your log how many are in your party so that seating for everyone can be accommodated.  Depending on numbers, a limited number of seats can be added to the pre-booked room / standing room is available or else a larger room can be organised (subject to continuing availability).

There is no charge for this event.
