The Biserujka cave the underground treasure of the island Krk
The cave was discovered over a 180 years ago . According to a legend hi a pearl treasure in the cave and that s why it s called Biserujka (biser in Croatian means a pearl). The cave is aprox. 111 meters long , the temperature in the cave is betwen 12 and 18° C all year around .
The speciality of the Biserujka caveis the insect Alpionscus christiani which lives only in this cave and nowhere else . The cave was reconstructed in 1997 , the footpaths in the cave are well-maintained and safe for all visitors who can admire its rich galleries filled with numerous stalactites , stalagnites and calcine pillars.
