Stąd wszędzie było daleko, a jednak osada tętniła gwarem. Na Papierni było pięć domów. Ludzie żyli przede wszystkim z lasu. On stanowił miejsce ich pracy i zarobku. Zbierało się grzyby, jagody i sprzedawało. Hodowano bydło – nie było gospodarstwa, które miało mniej jak cztery sztuki. Nawet mleczarze przyjeżdżali tam po mleko, bo to z Papierni było najlepsze. Do kościoła szło się do Rzochowa. Buty w rękę i w drogę przez ok. 6 kilometrów. Gdy odbywały się majówki cała osada śpiewała przy ich żarliwym akompaniamencie. Bywało wtedy bardzo wesoło, gwarnie, a i śmiechu też sporo było. w 1979 roku ostatnia rodzina opuściła Papiernię. Cóż ciężko było. Domy drewniane, brak prądu, zimą drogi zasypane śniegiem. Jako lodówka latem służyło źródło zimnej wody – tam przechowywało się potrawy. Podobno jest tam zakopana skrzynia z majątkiem, ale nikt nie wie, w którym miejscu. Niejeden próbował szukać, ale bez skutku. Są tam też groby młodych żołnierzy. To miejsce kryje wiele tajemnic, które znają tylko mieszkańcy Papierni, a tych jest już dziś coraz mniej.
