Augmented Reality is a new phenomenon which takes the image that your mobile device sees and is able to add in extra things for you to interact with. Currently some of the software that is available to produce Augmented Reality is a bit buggy. It can crashes, sometime the images vanish (try the top left icon when it does) and does use mobile data when being played. There is definitely a LOT of potential though for Augmented Reality to add to the geocaching experience in the future and this is certainly its early stages.
To play this Augmented Reality geocache you will need to download an app called "metaverse". It is available on both Android and iOS devices.
Then head to Moe Botanical Gardens and follow one of these methods to start:-
1. Load the Metaverse app and search for "@RobotBeta" (If you see 2 @RobotBeta results, select the second option with the Robot Beta image)
2. Scan this QR code…
Please Note - Most consistent results seems to come from the "Search for @RobotBeta" method, and either manually running each experience and/or using the map feature.
Run the main project called "Robot Beta" at the listed coordinates to talk to Robot Beta.
You will then be required to visit each way point and run the relating project to continue the experience. The other points of interest should be viewable on a map within the app, check the bottom right icon.
The way points are listed on this cache page also.
You will need to be within 40 meters to continue the experience. If the experience does not automatically load, then using the Metaverse app, please search for "@RobotBeta" (If you see 2 @RobotBeta results, select the second option with the Robot Beta image) and manually start the required experience for the correct location.
Note 2 - Most common issue being experienced, is it just freezing when attempting to give the items to Robot Beta. Problem reported to the developers, but please completely close the app, and restart. Your inventory items will not be removed.
Please remember, this is a game and supposed to be fun. I have enjoyed learning how to create an AR experience, and I hope you have some fun playing it. There is great potential with Augmented Reality and integrating it into the geocaching experience. However please remember that it is still a work in progress, and has a long way to go before it works perfectly every single time. My last 2 tests onsite, worked perfectly.
Since it has taken me some time to prepare this for you, as a thank you to me, posting your experience (both pro and con) would be greatly appreciated

PPS. Robot Beta and myself would like to say Thanks to everyone who voted to help this cache get nominated for the "Victorian Geocache of the Year Awards for 2018" in both the "Best Puzzle Cache Geocache" and "Best Overall Geocache" categories.
