Di fronte alla Piazza Rosa dei Venti, si affaccia la chiesa del Cristo Redentore, realizzata dall’architetto Aldo Bernardis su un terreno donato nel 1956 dalla Società Pineta. Anche in questa zona di Lignano infatti, l’avanzamento della urbanizzazione aveva determinato il bisogno di un nuovo luogo di culto: le celebrazioni estive si svolgevano all’aperto, sul terreno dove poi sarebbe sorta la chiesa, mentre durante l’inverno si mutilizzavano i locali messi a disposizione dai privati.
Nel 1958 fu posta così la prima pietra dell’edificio e successivamente si costruì la Cripta, che diventò subito funzionale per i servizi religiosi.Terminata nel 1962, fu benedetta dal Vescovo di Graz.
L’esterno della chiesa, terminato nel 1971, è caratterizzato dallo slancio accentuato della copertura a capanna, quasi una reminiscenza dei casoni dei pescatori, che enfatizza la tensione verticale conferita all’edificio dall’alta scalinata.

The Cristo Redentore – Christ the Redeemer - Church faces onto Piazza Rosa dei Venti. It was created by the architect Aldo Bernardis on land that was donated by Società Pineta in 1956. The progression of urbanisation also led to the need for a new place of worship in this area of Lignano: summer celebrations were held outdoors, on the land where the church would then be built, while during the winter premises donated by individuals were used.
The first brick of the building was laid in 1958 and the Crypt was built afterwards, which was used immediately for religious services. Completed in 1962, it was blessed by Bishop di Graz.
The interior of the church was finished in 1971 and is characterised by the accentuated slant of the gabled roof. It is almost reminiscent of the traditional fishermen huts - the casoni - and highlights the vertical tension that the high staircase bestows to the building.

Gegenüber der Piazza Rosa dei Venti steht die Kirche Cristo Redentore, die vom Architekten Aldo Bernardis auf einem Gelände, das im Jahr 1956 von der Società Pineta geschenkt wurde, errichtet wurde. Auch in diesem Gebiet von Lignano hat die fortschreitende Urbanisierung die Notwendigkeit einer neuen Gebetsstätte mit sich gebracht: die sommerlichen Feiern fanden im Freien statt, auf dem Gelände, wo später dann die Kirche erbaut wurde. Im Winter hingegen nutze man von Privatleuten zur Verfügung gestellte Räume.
Im Jahr 1958 wurde der erste Stein des Gebäudes gesetzt und anschließend konstruierte man die Krypta, die sofort für die religiösen Dienste genutzt wurde. Im Jahr 1962 wurde der Bau beendet und vom Bischof von Graz gesegnet.
Das Äußere der Kirche, im Jahr 1972 beendet, zeichnet sich durch den markanten Schwung des Satteldachs aus, fast eine Reminiszenz an die “Casoni” – die Fischerhütten, das die vertikale Spannung, die dem Gebäude durch die hohe Treppe verliehen wird, betont.
