Po I rozbiorze Polski w 1772 roku miasto znalazło się w granicach Królestwa Prus. W 1785 roku zbudowano pierwszą szkołę, w 1793 ukończono stary ratusz, a w latach 1803–1828 funkcjonował Sąd Ziemski i Miejski. W 1818 roku Tolkmicko włączono do utworzonego powiatu elbląskiego. Podczas powstania listopadowego w mieście stacjonowało 240 żołnierzy. W tym samym roku w miejscowości wybuchła epidemia cholery. W 1832 roku w Tolkmicku otwarto pierwszą aptekę. W drugiej połowie XIX wieku miasto intensywnie się rozwijało, w latach 1862–1883 budowano port rybacki, a w roku 1873 poprowadzono szosę z Tolkmicka do Elbląga. W roku 1899 zakończono budowę stacji kolejowej w Tolkmicku. W latach 1925–1928 miasto wyposażono w sieć kanalizacji burzowej. W 1939 roku rozpoczęto budowę fabryki marmolady, jednak została ona zamknięta już w 1940 roku.

After the first partition of Poland in 1772, the city was within the borders of the Kingdom of Prussia. In 1785, the first school was built, in 1793 the old town hall was completed, and in the years 1803-1828 there was the Land and City Court. In 1818, Tolkmicko was incorporated into the Elbląg poviat. During the November Uprising, 240 soldiers were stationed in the city. In the same year a cholera epidemic broke out in the town. In 1832, the first pharmacy was opened in Tolkmicko. In the second half of the nineteenth century, the city grew rapidly, in the years 1862-1883 a fishing port was built, and in 1873 a road from Tolkmicka to Elbląg was led. In 1899 the construction of the Superstructure Railway with the station in Tolkmicko was completed. In the years 1925-1928, the city was equipped with a storm sewage system. In 1939, the construction of the marmalade factory began, however, it was closed already in 1940.
