Beautiful views of the Crystal Range, Round Top, Mokelumne Peak, and Union Valley and Ice House Reservoirs may be had from this hilltop. This cache is not accesible in winter conditions.
You will have to hike at least 1/2 mile and make a gradual 500 foot climb to reach the cache site from the nearest road. Allow at least 1 hour hiking time, round trip. The best approach is to first head northeast through the meadow past Van Vleck Bunkhouse then climb the hill on the northeast side. Other approaches will require a lot of bushwacking.
Originally included in the dark green ammo box were a Dilbert cartoon, a shed deer antler, one half of a wild boar's lower jawbone (with a Topo! map showing where the jawbone was found), a compass, a utility tool, a Sierra Lace replacement boot lace, a solar powered calacuator, a Thermarest butt pad, a brass belt buckle, a bolo tie, a Topo! map of the area, and a bronze medal.
