This could very well be one of Montana's Highest placed Geocache!!
This Ammo container is located on the top of Monument Peak - one of a few of Montana's highests peaks at 10,995 feet.To get there, it will either take an overnight hike, or a 4x4 vehicle to drive the road to get close. This road is not for the weak at heart!! Study your maps, and you should be able to figure out which road to take.This is a very seasonal cache - only try to access it during june, july, aug. and maybe early sept. Be careful if snow conditions are extreme!!A hike is involved to get to the top. No rope is needed, but this peak can be treacherous if there is lots of snow, or if storms are blowing through. The Forest Service has a box there that people can sign when they get to the top. The cache is fairly well hidden to keep muggles from finding it.When you get to the top, you will find two benchmarks, along with the registry. Remember to enjoy the scenery - take the time to do so!
