Geocache Description:

"They paved paradise, put up a parking lot"

This cache is sort of an homage to my father, a civil engineer. He once told me that engineers would only be happy when the whole world was a perfect, paved sphere. He was joking, but....

Maps of vegetation in Iowa in the 19th century show the state as heavily forested. Maps in the late 20th century show forestation only in small spots and along rivers. This cache is in the middle of what might once have been a forest, but now is definitely not!

This is the first of several wheelchair accessible/drive up caches I am trying to do in the winter of 2006, while I am confined to a wheelchair following an accident.
