2006 Heritage Trail Series #1
This is the first of several caches I hope to plant along the
Heritage Trail this year. The Heritage Trail has been open for
years. The 26 miles trail runs between an area just north of the
City of Dubuque to the City of Dyersville on the bed of former
railroad tracks. The hard packed surface features no more than a 1%
grade increase in any area, making it great for scenic walking,
running or biking for users of all ages. The City of Dubuque is
slowly but surely making progress on connecting the City’s bike
trail system to the main portion of the Heritage Trail. There’s
been a stretch between 22nd & 32nd/Peru Rd. for years. Last
year the City opened a stretch between 32nd/Peru Rd. and John Deere
Rd. The cache is hidden along this approximate 1.5 mile stretch.
This is an easy, kid friendly cache. Cache is an approx. 6” x 6”
