Geocache Description:

4X4 is highly recommended. This is a level-B road with plenty of bumps with a very rocky and fairly steep climb. Two entrances are available one at the top and one at the bottom. Have it your way.

I placed this cache in 2006 while I was attending college at the University of Dubuque. I found this road by accident driving around in one of the winter snowstorms in Iowa, and knew instantly that this was the place for a cache. Thank you to a couple of dedicated cachers near this area that has tended to this hide. It appears to be doing just fine.

This cache is a pretty easy find although getting to the cache's location is the fun part. This cache is dedicated to the Jeep, off road community, and to those willing to ride out the rigor by foot and foot pedal. Although the cache is feasible by foot or bicycle, I would not recommend it in the wintertime without four-wheel drive, especially come snowfall. This cache is located on Old Humke Rd 8 miles west of Dubuque; small to medium tupperware and contains the regular goods, bootlaces, flashlight, compass, etc. I would recommend traveling down the road and up the road just for the enjoyment, then, stopping off to the side to snag this steep cache.

Enjoy the trip...its what caching is all about
