I was in town for the Joe Satriani/Eric Johnson concert at the Metropolis. After the show ended I swung by the closest cache I could find that was not a micro and would take this "Team Purple" bug, Parc Lafontaine fit the bill perfectly. I pulled up in the parking lot beside another car, got my maglight, camera bag and gps out to do the cache and noticed that the car beside mine wasn't empty. It's windows were slightly steamed up but not so much that I couldn't see that there was a guy in there with a shirt on but no pants and he was doing push-ups in the passenger seat. Uhh. He didn't appear to be by himself either. I didn't want to interupt (although it was tempting to tap the maglite on the window, hold up the travel bug which was a little purple gnome and say "It's alright! Just show me on the gnome where he touched you!" hehehehehe)..
So I uhh, did the polite thing and got back in my car and moved it about 50 meters away, this time beside a van. This time when I got out the Van was rocking on it's shocks and not to the music coming from inside but there was no way I was gonna move my car again.
Being in a park in a strange city in the night looking for a cache was interesting, it was pretty busy out there, but everyone seemed to keep to themeslves. There were people walking dogs, biking, waiting on park benches, walking around loudly speaking German on their cellphones.. No one said boo or even seemed to pay any attention as I zeroed in on the cache, found it and traded up. After waiting for some people to walk by, I hid it back in place and made my way back to the parking-lot and headed back to Ottawa!
