Today's trip may be described with one word: "Contrasts". We started out in the high desert in Yucca Valley at an elevation of 3300 feet. We then drove down to Salton City at a level of -125 feet. After that we climbed to an elevation of more than 4700 feet (south of Julian) before our final descent to El Cajon. Also the sceneries we saw were very different. The biggest contrast was between the never developed Salton City and the nice, historic town of Julian!
