My 500th found and an FTF in Lebanon. Thank you, hoviv, for fixing this cache for me.
I have to explain that I contacted hoviv before my visit to Lebanon. I asked him to save a cache for me as an FTF for my 500th found and he fixed this cache short time before my arrival in Lebanon.
Concerning the cache I have to say that it is a great cache.
It was my 7th visit to Lebanon and I saw the steles always only from the highway. Even my wife who comes to Lebanon since her childhood only knows the steles one can see from the street beside the river. Because of this cache we came to know that there are many more very interesting steles than the one of Napoleon III.
The day we were searching for this cache the view to Beirut (from the top of the route above the tunnel) and to Jounieh was a bit foggy. On clear days it must be a great view.
While coming closer to the cache my wife, the children and I were passing a couple that was very interested in the steles. But at the point where we had to search for the box we were alone. After a short search we found it. I was so happy that I was the first to log this cache. I was so happy about my 500th found. My wife had to take so many photos of this outstanding point in mankind's history that I forgot to log the date and time of finding this cache. But you can see my stamp print on the photo of fimus85's log.
While taking hundreds of thousands of photos the couple came to the steles where the cache was hidden and I still had the logbook and the box im my hand. So I had to wait about 15 Minutes until they left the place and I could hide the box again. But this cache was worth it.
To following cachers I can say: Search for this cache. The cache itself is quickly done and you can spend so many time at this great location. Not only steles are very interesting. There is also an old roman bridge near this place. Just walk along the road in the "dog river valley".
To hoviv I have to say: Thank you so many times for this cache and especially for fixing it in time.
I hope you will do more of these great caches which lead people to interesting places in Lebanon.
