I came out to the Lake around 9:00 this morning after activating a BIT cache nearby. It was nice to see a good sized group at this first ever Fall event of the TXGA. Even better...it was only about 10 minutes from my house. Thanks so much!!!
Signed the "log" (mask). I got my flag and put it where I thought GZ was. I then went over the lone flag and got what I thought were the coordinates and entered that "guess". Turns out my flag was about 6' from where GZ should have been. BUT...I was DEAD ON for the coordinates of the lone flag...and all I used was my Samsung Galaxy Nexus and the GPS Averaging app!
There were plenty of trackables to discover. I went home a little after lunch to pick up my son and then we came back and found a 4.5 difficulty cache recently deployed by AgNav then came back to the event. It's always good to see GxProxy. I think there was someone from almost every region in Texas present at this event and the weather was great. So nice to see familiar faces from everywhere and I look forward to doing it again soon.
BTW...this is my 1300th cache - cumulative among various listing sites.
