Found it The Revealers found Þingvellir - The Mid-Atlantic Ridge

Friday, September 7, 2012Iceland

This was our first time in Iceland - and it definitely will not be our last time. In addition to that it was also our honeymoon since we married on September 1st. And it was the best honeymoon trip we could imagine! We had every kind of weather Iceland has to offer, with sun (though we received more than our fair share of that), storm, blizzard, snow, fog, rain, clouds... Our Happy Camper took us (almost) all around the country, and the last few days we relaxed in Reykjavik. We really enjoyed all the caches along our way, some showed us really wonderful things off the beaten track. So a big "Thank you!" to all the cache owners for making our tour even more special!

This was our first cache in iceland on our very first day. As it was already quite late (we had arrived with our plane at Reykjavik in the afternoon) we could enjoy the light from the dawning sunset and visit this historical and geological sight almost on our own. As this was our first encounter of icelandic rifts and ridges we were really impressed and therefore this earthcache was perfect to get some more information and have a closer look.
Thank you so much for collecting the information and setting interesting tasks!

Best regards from Germany and TFTC again,
The Revealers

infoAn Earthcache is an educational form of a virtual cache. The reward for these caches is learning more about the planet on which we live - its landscapes, its geology or the minerals and fossils that are found there. Many Earthcaches are in National Parks. Some are multi-cache in form, and some have a physical log book located in or close to a Visitor Center. Earthcaches are developed in association with the Geological Society of America.
