Found it DK_Titan found Ratzetown 11

Saturday, October 20, 2012Schleswig-Holstein, Germany

It has become a tradition that we make a geocaching trip to Germany in the middle of October every year. This year we even made two such trips. Our original plans for this (extended) weekend were canceled and we therefore decided to return to Germany after a few days back at work. We had heard about the very nice weather, which was expected in Schleswig-Holstein and therefore decided to spend two nights in Bad Oldesloe. That location gave us the opportunity to visit lot of caches, which required walking, and that was exactly what we were looking for.

The main goal of our trip was the Ratzetown series, which seemed to offer a very long walk with very many well maintained caches. We were aware, that this series was about to be archived so we contacted the owner and asked if we were in risk of being too late. We received a very friendly reply which confirmed, that the caches would still be active today. We even found out, that the cache owner was still performing maintenance of the series despite the decision to close down the series very soon. That's an extraordinary service!

We found the first cache at 8:58 and completed the round at 18:04. According to our GPS we had walked 33,7 km (including a de-tour to two caches outside the series). During our walk we met a few other geocachers as well as the cache owner! Thanks for the nice chat!

This cache was found at 9:29.

Thanks for the cache and greetings form Denmark

infoThis is the original cache type consisting, at a bare minimum, a container and a log book. Normally you'll find a tupperware container, ammo box, or bucket filled with goodies, or smaller container ("micro cache") too small to contain items except for a log book. The coordinates listed on the traditional cache page is the exact location for the cache.
