Found it The Bolas Heathens found Pinga and Roo's Lost Toy Box

Wednesday, June 27, 2007United Kingdom

Joint FTF with Phil of PhilPamAndRob.

Wooohoooo - we finally solved the mystery and saved the Lost Toy Box . It was safe and well and we retrieved the tickets to what looks to be a great party. Looking forward to it already!

We'd been looking at the puzzle off and on since about a month after it was published and had got quite far but then saw the Toy Box was off-line as Pinga had hidden it somewhere else.

After Pinga moved the Toy Box back to where it should be, I started to look at it again with lots ideas of how to proceed. I emailed suggestions to the cache owners and got lots of answers like "No", "Not Quite" and one time a "You are so close we cannot tell you any more because you have just told us how to solve it in your email and any more information would give it away". This last one had me re-reading my last email I don't know how many times but I still could not spot it.

A chance conversation with Phil of PhilPamAndRob indicated he was thiking along the same lines as me so we decided to combine our efforts and get the puzzle solved. We made good progress and at lunchtime today had cracked the main part of the puzzle.

The cache owners assured us the last bit was "quite easy" but it still took a lot of staring at the picture and trying out different ideas to spot it. I was even sat in the dentist's waiting room this afternoon with a copy of the picture which got some strange looks.

Co-ordinates confirmed by the owners, I arranged to meet Phil near the cache at 9pm. The cache itself was an easy find with spot on co-ordinates which was a welcome break after the tricky puzzle.

Thanks for the FTF prize, FTF Certificate, cup of tea and great chat. Hope we did not keep you up too late chatting as we did not realise the time! Thanks also for a challenging puzzle which looks a lot easier than it was, now we have solved it.

Thanks also to Phil - it was great fun bouncing ideas off each other and then going off to find the cache last night.

infoA Mystery Cache is the “catch-all” of cache types, this form of cache can involve complicated puzzles you will first need to solve to determine the coordinates. The only commonality of this cache type is that the coordinates listed are not of the actual cache location but a general reference point, such as a nearby parking location. Due to the increasing creativity of geocaching this becomes the staging ground for new and unique challenges.
