Last year we made a geocaching roadtrip from Las Vegas to Seattle. On that trip we visited the Thunderbird Geo-Art in Idaho and that is now a great holiday memory.

In the meantime, an even more impressive piece of Geo-Art has appeared: the Locomotive. When planning this year's trip we knew, that we had to include a visit in Idaho, and it was obvious, that we would need quite some time for this. We therefore booked ten nights at a hotel in Mountain Home, which should be time enough for walking to all 1000 caches (and time for a few resting days).

Today was our third day in the series, and it was a hike of 37,6 km (23,4 miles). We were quite tired after the two previous days (where we walked a total of 65,2 km), so our average speed today was a bit slower (also because it was difficult to walk in a straight line today due to all the bushes being in the way...) A consequence of this was, that we did not manage to get back to the car before darkness, but luckily we had a flash light with us.

For a more detailed description of our experience with the Locomotive series, please refer to no. 0001.

Thanks for the cache and greetings from Denmark!

infoThis is the original cache type consisting, at a bare minimum, a container and a log book. Normally you'll find a tupperware container, ammo box, or bucket filled with goodies, or smaller container ("micro cache") too small to contain items except for a log book. The coordinates listed on the traditional cache page is the exact location for the cache.
