Last year we made a geocaching roadtrip from Las Vegas to Seattle. On that trip we visited the Thunderbird Geo-Art in Idaho and that is now a great holiday memory.

In the meantime, an even more impressive piece of Geo-Art has appeared: the Locomotive. When planning this year's trip we knew, that we had to include a visit in Idaho, and it was obvious, that we would need quite some time for this. We therefore booked ten nights at a hotel in Mountain Home, which should be time enough for walking to all 1000 caches (and time for a few resting days).

Yesterday we took a break from the desert hiking and mainly focused on drive-by caches, but today we were back in the desert. This was our sixth day of hiking here, and during our previous five hikes we had walked more than 170 km (106 miles). Along the way we had found 782 of the caches, so we would only have to visit 218 caches during our last two days. Today's walk was 37,7 km (23,4 miles) which took us a bit less than 12 hours.

For a more detailed description of our experience with the Locomotive series, please refer to no. 0001.

Thanks for the cache and greetings from Denmark!

infoThis is the original cache type consisting, at a bare minimum, a container and a log book. Normally you'll find a tupperware container, ammo box, or bucket filled with goodies, or smaller container ("micro cache") too small to contain items except for a log book. The coordinates listed on the traditional cache page is the exact location for the cache.
