Found it DK_Titan found WWWROS - Gray Stones

Wednesday, July 24, 2013North West England, United Kingdom

It has been almost three years since our last geocaching vacation in the UK, but we have many times talked about coming back to this beautiful country and it's public footpaths. On all our previous trips we had to rely on public transportation, but this time we rented a car, which gave us much more flexibility to plan each day trip.

Today was our second full day of geocaching. We decided to focus on the Rossendale Section of the WWW-series. We parked our car in Bacup took the trip counterclockwise. At one point we noticed a strange looking cloud in the horizon. It turned out not to be a cloud after all, but the smoke from a major fire in Padiham recycling centre. By the end of the day we made a detour to some of the Northernmost caches of the Waterfoot Section. According to our GPS'r we walked a total distance of 29,5 km. We really enjoyed the trip and the fact, that most of the caches we came across were larger than micros. On the other hand, many of the log books in the Letterbox caches were moist and smelly, which couldn't help affecting the experience. A service check of the series would be a good idea.

This cache was found at 13:47.

Thanks for the cache and greetings from Denmark!

infoA letterbox is another form of treasure hunting using clues instead of coordinates. In some cases, however, a letterbox has coordinates, and the owner has made it a letterbox and a geocache. To read more about letterboxing, visit the Letterboxing North America web site.
