Found it DK_Titan found Melbourne's Yarra River

Sunday, March 2, 2014Victoria, Australia

I arrived in Melbourne very late yesterday evening and after a good nights sleep and a delicious breakfast I went out to find a bunch of geocaches (and let them show me the sights and teach me about history of the city). After crossing the Yarra River I continued past the impressive Eureka Tower and headed towards the Royal Botanic Gardens and the Observatory. My trip continued through Fawkner Park and to South Yarra. I had solved a mystery and wanted to do a Wherigo in Hawthorn, so I took a Metro train there. Finally I headed back towards downtown and ended the day by finding the cache at Banana Alley just across the street from my hotel. I had a great time and got a very good impression of Melbourne!

This interesting earthcache got the honour of becoming our very first find in Australia. It is awarded a favorite point for the very interesting cache description. The attached photo was taken at 9:56.

Thanks for the cache and the quick permission to log.

Greetings from Denmark!

infoAn Earthcache is an educational form of a virtual cache. The reward for these caches is learning more about the planet on which we live - its landscapes, its geology or the minerals and fossils that are found there. Many Earthcaches are in National Parks. Some are multi-cache in form, and some have a physical log book located in or close to a Visitor Center. Earthcaches are developed in association with the Geological Society of America.
