I had a look when this was published on Saturday but I failed to make much meaningful progress. My problem was that I'd misinterpreted something on the cache page (which might've put me on the naughty step too if my wife had discovered me searching for it).
It wasn't until Tuesday lunchtime that I discovered that a hint had been added a few days before and that a number of people had now found it. I had a glimmer of an idea from the hint but I couldn't make it work.
When I got home I had another go. After a while I spotted a few surprising things, did a bit of Googling and there was a connection. The decode soon presented itself and out popped the co-ordinates. Nice one.
Bobcat has been doing his AS exams these past two weeks so he hasn't been caching for a while. With just one exam to go (in a months time) after today, I had promised him we'd look for this one in the evening. There was the potential of a double celebration in fact as this would be my 1800th find.
We arrived at the co-ordinates and it wasn't long before Bobcat had found the intermediate. After reading the previous logs I'd come prepared with a clipboard, and we managed to get the puzzle sorted out surprisingly quickly. Really enjoyable. I was glad there was a check sum though, as it took me three goes to get the co-ordinate calculations right.
Then on to the final where it was Bobcat again who made the find. We took the 5TF certificate and left a toy car.
A really good puzzle - and we both loved the field puzzle part.
