It has become a tradition that we make a yearly geocaching road trip in the US. It's the fifth year in a row that we do so, but the first time we visit the Eastern part of the country – starting in Miami and ending in Boston. This year's trip brought us through 17 states and one Canadian province.
Today was day 12 of our trip. We had a relatively long driving distance (compared to most other days of our road trip) – going from Lake Lenoir, Tennessee to Charlotte, North Carolina. We were not quite sure if we should take the faster trip through the Smokey Mountains or go for a more scenic route. We decided to take the faster route, which unfortunately turned out not to be so fast after all. Due to a traffic accident, we ended in a queue on the interstate, which cost us 45 minutes of standing still. Apart from the delay we had a great day and found a bunch of very nice caches. We made frequent cache stops along the way (at least one per county), and arrived in Charlotte at approximately 8 pm.
This cache was found at 13:11. It was our first find in North Carolina.
Thanks for the cache and greetings from Denmark!
