Found it DK_Titan found Metamorphic Rocks

Friday, May 23, 2014Virginia

It has become a tradition that we make a yearly geocaching road trip in the US. It's the fifth year in a row that we do so, but the first time we visit the Eastern part of the country – starting in Miami and ending in Boston. This year's trip brought us through 17 states and one Canadian province.

Today was day 14 of our trip which brought us from Charlotte, North Carolina to Waynesboro, Virginia. Compared to most other days, the driving distance was rather large, but we did have time to find a bunch of nice caches, including a very memorable earthcache requiring a guided tour in Dixie Caverns, another earthcace at Natural Bridge and the biggest surprise of the whole road trip – the virtual cache “Merlin at Work?”

This interesting earthcache was visited at 11:35, where the attached photo was taken. An email with the requested information was sent on 17 June 2014 and this log was uploaded on 29 June 2014.

Thanks for the cache and greetings from Denmark!

infoAn Earthcache is an educational form of a virtual cache. The reward for these caches is learning more about the planet on which we live - its landscapes, its geology or the minerals and fossils that are found there. Many Earthcaches are in National Parks. Some are multi-cache in form, and some have a physical log book located in or close to a Visitor Center. Earthcaches are developed in association with the Geological Society of America.
