My son Bobcat was going to the Keele Uni Open Day (for Maths) today so we thought it would be a good idea to celebrate it with a Pi day event. But where to hold it though? (as we live over 180 miles away and don't know the area). I chose a circular area of grass that seemed to have some parking nearby.
On the day that the event was published Geocaching.com suddenly announced that it would earn a souvenir. I admit I did panic a little then. There wasn't another event in the region so I knew it would be popular - but I had visions of loads of cars turning up and the local residents calling the police.
We had a great turnout - there must've been over 50 people here - and happily no problems with the locals. It was great to meet everybody, discover where you all came from, and see (and eat some of) your pi related objects.
Thanks to everybody who attended, and a happy 3.141592653....... to you all. I'll post some photos of the event.
