To sum it up in one word: "Wow."
Two words would be: "I'm Hooked."
I cannot stress enough how much I appreciate and respect the time and effort RLahti and Downy have put into this. They described their efforts modestly when I thanked them. But hauling the gear out there, setting up, giving lectures, watching over us, and then striking it all as an effort. Just because they make it look easy doesn't mean it is. Thank you, gentlemen.
I hope I can make the time to meet up with them in the future and use what they have taught me about safely descending these rock faces.
At all times I felt in good hands. Safety was taken seriously. I was glad for that.
But it was also a blast to be able to put what they showed us to work.
This was also the first time I have spoken face-to-face with other geocachers (aside from the ones who started when I started). What great people to know! Downy288, RLahti, Juneebug, Pandagram, WreckDiver and his daughter… I'm terrible with names, but I believe I also met Lynn - can't remember her nick.
Chickmunk arrived later with her daughter, I wish I could remember their names, but at least I got the nick. My social skills get me by, but just barely. :)
All around this was an excellent experience.
An extra special thank you to Pandagram for takign such excellent pictures so I could try to convince my wife to come out with me next time. I'm working on it!
