Monday, 23 July 2018West Midlands, United Kingdom

Out and about with my good mate WhiteFriar for a three day trip based on Chester and the surrounding area. Terrain 5's in four new counties (for a challenge) together with old caches (multiple Jasmer) were the main objectives. We've also had our eyes on the two Wirral webcams but one is curently disabled and the other pointing out to sea! Otherwise we contented ourselves with hoovering up (many!) Sidetracked, Church Micros, challenge caches and a Fine Pair.

Day 1 was mostly about getting to Chester where we stay for two nights. An early start got us round the M25 with only a small delay but two snarl ups on the M6, one escaped the other endured, cost us dearly. However, all T5's successfully found, though little else - just ten finds for the day.

As anticipated, this was our toughest challenge of the day. After much staring into the tree we still hadn't spotted the cache, so it was a choice of go or speculate. We chose to lob a rope up and climb into the tree for another look around. Whether by luck or judgement, we had the rope in just the right place to reach the cache. Job done!

infoThis is the original cache type consisting, at a bare minimum, a container and a log book. Normally you'll find a tupperware container, ammo box, or bucket filled with goodies, or smaller container ("micro cache") too small to contain items except for a log book. The coordinates listed on the traditional cache page is the exact location for the cache.
