When we woke up and discovered in the morning that it is sunny outside, we immediately decided to go out. Bus was leaving at 10:30 which was exactly 45 minutes to have a breakfast, pack up and depart and exactly 60 minutes from our waking up. However, we managed it even with preparing a coffee to go.
Our goal was Turku – the city with famous castle and university which we originally belong to. And the main purpose of going there during a working day was that I wanted to buy a university hoodie (Turku school of economics). When we caught the bus and we saw the green landscapes, sun and spring atmosphere for the first time after soooo long, we were really happy, looking out and just enjoying it. Also we started to study for one course a bit.
After arriving to Turku we headed to the university where we also wanted to go for a lunch. But it was not an ordinary lunch! We ate on a terrace where it was quite warm, sunny and fresh air – this was really amazing feeling. After that we went to the university shop where both of us bought the TSE university hoodies after some hesitation. However, immediately after that we put them on, started to promenade and feel like real students.
After a bit of walking around the city we visited also the Turku castle where we enjoyed a cup of coffee and read interesting posters at doors of toilets. On the way back to city centre we came across a restaurant called “Hospoda” which is czech word for a pub. I was so amazed that I had to go in and ask whether they are somehow connected to the Czech republic. There were even czech beers on the tap! And yeah, 10 years ago it was established by a czech man but it was sold 7 years ago. Even though it was cool, it was really expensive and we decided to try Hesburger (something like local McDonald’s) for the first time.
Thank you and greetings from the Czech republic!
