I had run into the TiE adults on the trail and joined them in finding this cap. It's the first time I've found a brass cap with other geocachers, and this certainly was the team to do it with. The TiEs have found lots of these things and had several helpful suggestions. I even learned what the C/L initials mean on the hints (centre line).

Thanks to BVPete's earlier efforts, we didn't have to cross the fence or trespass. On the trail heading back, we ran into gordoner and had the pleasure of chatting with him for a while. He then continued on to this brass cap, the TiEs headed back to the road, and I veered west to pick up two more caches.

Thanks for another cap and a good hike.

Cap in context
infoA virtual cache is a cache that exists in a form of a location. Depending on the cache "hider," a virtual cache could be to answer a question about a location, an interesting spot, a task, etc. The reward for these caches is the location itself and sharing information about your visit.

Because of the nature of these geocaches, you must actually visit the location and acquire the coordinates there before you can post. In addition, although many locations are interesting, a virtual cache should be out of the ordinary enough to warrant logging a visit.

Virtuals are now considered waymarks on Waymarking.com.
