Found it OHMIC found Ford Crossing

Thursday, March 27, 2008Manitoba, Canada

Stealth 101 by OHMIC
It all started when I realised I had some time to spare before my meeting in Fisher Branch. I noticed this little cache not too far north and decided to go find it.
After driving on a very scenic roads I didn't know we had in the Interlake (Marble Ridge Road) I came across the small road-like snow covered trail leading towards the cache. I drive along this road and come at the Ford Crossing.
Fortunately there's no water to cross today and the cache is even on the right side of the crossing.
The only challenge is that the cache seems to be quite close to a house and some fresh tire tracks are also leading to the house.
The house looks abandonned but there are some pink curtains in the window. There's got to be somebody living in here if there's pink curtains!
I park the car in a safe distance and creep my way to the cache using an old shed and outhouse as shelters. I manage to get even closer to the cache site by hiding in small bushes and behind a tree but I realise that although I'm not seen from the house, anyone driving on the road can see me and the neighbour's house isn't too far away either.

Looking at the neighbourhood, I would guess that they probably have big guns in these parts. And I'm pretty sure that if someone sees me creeping in Ole' Mrs Pinkcurtain's yard, they probably have the tendancy to shoot first and ask questions later...

I quickly search for the cache in a few likely places, while keeping an eye on the street and the neighbour's house when I finally see what can possibly be the corner of a cache container poking through the snow.
I crouch down to grab the cache when all of a sudden:

Rats! Someone's honking at me! Either somebody called the police or the local milicia is taking matters into their own hands...either way, I'm probably going to have some explaining to do...
I look around and the only car I see is mine, ALL LIGHTS FLASHING!

I accidentally press the Panic button while crouching and it's having that exact effect: I'm panicking!
I try pressing all the buttons, nothing works:

I look at the pink curtains, nothing's moving. A quick look at the neighbour's house? Nobody in sight...yet!
I quickly sign the logbook, toss the cache back in place and run to my loud everhonking vehicle. Of course as soon as I get close to it, it stops...
I unlock the door, jump in and drive away without ever looking back. Pfew!

Time for the meeting now...

TNLNSL, well mostly scribble something in the back on a blank page...

infoThis is the original cache type consisting, at a bare minimum, a container and a log book. Normally you'll find a tupperware container, ammo box, or bucket filled with goodies, or smaller container ("micro cache") too small to contain items except for a log book. The coordinates listed on the traditional cache page is the exact location for the cache.
