Found it BaSHful found Yewdale Beck

Tuesday, August 11, 2015North West England, United Kingdom

This year I am taking my (by myself) holiday in the Lake District, staying at the Ambleside end of Windermere in a pleasant little hotel. My motivation is a desire to revisit this beautiful area that I have visited many times in the past, though not for many years, to see if I can still make it to the tops of the hills and, of course, to pick up a few caches, many aimed at furthering the many challenges I have set myself, including qualifying for one or two challenge caches.

Finally, it is time for the big one! After much internal debate I went for the long drive to Wasdale to give me the shortest ascent, not that any ascent of this mountain is easy! A touch of rain on the drive over but then dry for the rest of the day, though views were at times limited by cloud.

The main event had gone well with five excellent caches found but I still needed a birthday cache. Fortunately this was a mere 0.9 mile detour on my return drive and the cache located five minutes after leaving the car in the very handy parking area. Always good to visit an old one.

infoThis is the original cache type consisting, at a bare minimum, a container and a log book. Normally you'll find a tupperware container, ammo box, or bucket filled with goodies, or smaller container ("micro cache") too small to contain items except for a log book. The coordinates listed on the traditional cache page is the exact location for the cache.
