I had the opportunity to do a bit of caching with Kitty!! today and we decided to head for Wat Tyler Country Park to give the Whereigo a try, plus bagging a couple of trads on the way home.
This had been on my radar for a while so when Kitty said where did I want to go, I suggested a trip here. Not somewhere I've been before, Anne had last visited many years ago with her daughter, but it was to be her first Whereigo.
I was using the cartridge via the app on iPhone 5S and Kitty had hers on the Garmin Oregon. They both seeemed to work very well, pinging "in the zone" at more or less the same time. The only difficulty was finding a way to Zone 13, which required negotiating our way through a thicket - but we had come prepared! I followed Kitty as she gamely hacked her way through the brambles, deftly wielding her secateurs like a seasoned pro. Eventually we made it to the right place - and had a selfie moment just to show the relief!
I've now played 8 Whereigos and this has to be the best of the lot - really well put together and lots of pertinent, personal information - I loved the way we were guided around the site by Ted telling us his story. It was so much more engaging than just wandering around reading the noticeboards would have been.
So thanks for an excellent Whereigo experience, I would give it two faves if I could!
